Edgewater is a small community located in Central Maryland just a short drive from Annapolis and the South River. It is situated within Anne Arundel County, and as of the year 2010, it had a population of just over 9,000 people. History of Edgewater

The community that is known as Edgewater today was founded in 1683 and was originally named Londontowne. In its early days, Londontowne was primarily a seaport town. The community nearly disappeared in the early 19th century, but restoration efforts to save it during the early 2000s proved successful, and its name was changed to Edgewater in the year 2010.

Parks and Recreation
